In last 48 to 72 hour’s Pakistan army have lost 12 soldiers including an officer in different terrorist attacks in balochistan and north waziristan but there is criminal silence at the end of our Prime minister and army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa to even condole to the bereaved families and come up with a plan to end this useless loss of lives because now it has a become a pattern every other day there is a convoy of FC and Pakistan army on a regular patrol is being ambushed by known enemy at will and we are just clueless about it or better we have become a reactionary force despite having capability and capacity to preempt and prevent this. We have all the necessary Intel about their routes, training facilities, logistics, financers and master’s than why are we reluctant to act aggressively across border there will be loopholes nobody can ensure 100% safety but certainly a jaw breaking response from our airforce would raise the cost for their master’s and will send a strong message to the hawk’s sitting in Kabul who are enabling these attacks by their covert support. The watershed moment of Pakistans own war on terror was 16 December 2014 when TTP planned and coordinated an attack from across the border at APS peshawar the than army cheif Raheel Shareef boarded an unofficial plane and landed next day in Kabul to tell them that now you have crossed the red line by killing innocent children’s and than we all know what happened. Similar enough is enough! message to Kabul and their masters is need of the hour, we want peace, progress and inclusive Afghanistan but not at the cost of dead corpses of our soldier’s every other day. To make sure the safety of fenced border in porus regions of Balochistan and former tribal belt where these cross border attacks took place frequently we need a robust mechanism and integration of drones for better surveillance and Intel gatherings in hot spots 24/7 to safeguard our land border and Frontline soldier’s. Another option would be creating buffer zones in hotspots filled with landmines for about an 800 to 900 meters inside Afghanistan with 24/7 drone surveillance a replica of what Turkey did in Afrin province of Syria to choke the support of Kurdish militants from across the border. The above mentioned steps require alot of political will at our civil and military leadership end but sadly we have no other options available at our disposal and definitely this good cop image in the region and a force for regional stability rant is costing us so much and expect worse and more violence in coming day’s as U.S presence diminishes.
